Mode of offering: block release
Block Release Mode of Delivery has several advantages to both students and employers of students (and potential students).
Advantages include:
-
Students can study from their home location or place of work;
-
Students do not have to attend classes on a regular basis;
-
Students who are employed can use vacation leave to attend the lecturing blocks and
-
Employers can plan staff development and support students to further their studies and expertise.
This mode of delivery will have students in the classroom for a compulsory lecturing block of three days per module. Two modules will be offered per trimester and the lecturing blocks of the two modules will run back-to-back, meaning six consecutive days per trimester, if registered for both modules.
The first trimester will run from January to April, the second trimester from May to August and the third from September to November.
The lecturing blocks will be mid-April (for first trimester modules), mid-July (for second trimester modules) and late October (for third trimester modules). It will be compulsory to attend the three-day lecturing block for a module to be allowed to write the respective examination. Exact dates for lecturing blocks will be made available at the start of each module.
